My journey as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner student has been amazing, scary and intense! On one of the conference calls with my instructors they shared their passion for “Golden Milk”. I was so excited to try this yummy healing drink. It’s full of turmeric and cinnamon which have amazing inflammatory properties, and offers stress relief too. Such a wonderful time of year to drink due to the cold and flu season. It’s a great preventative drink. Plus the benefits of turmeric go on and on! This warm drink is enjoyable anytime of the day, and easy to make. When taking turmeric, it’s recommended to also take black pepper (piperine) to help enhance absorption of turmeric.
2 cups Organic Coconut milk, I use this one.
1 tsp. Turmeric
1 tsp. raw honey
Pinch of Black pepper
1/4 tsp. ginger powder, crushed ginger or tiny piece of peeled fresh ginger
Pinch of cayenne (optional, but it gives it a mild warming which is yummy!)
Mix all together with a whisk in a sauce pan. Stir over medium heat 3-5mins until it’s warm, but not boiling. Enjoy!
This past weekend I spent 3 FULL days learning with a wonderful group of like minded nutrition nuts, and I’m so excited to continue this journey.
