Mission statement: To spread and elevate Therapeutic Myofascial Bodywork and availability within the community, and Massage Profession.
PMP is an internship program for LMT’s interested in establishing a private practice while training and specializing in Myofascial Therapy. PMP offers Rooted Movement Credentialing (Rooted Movement Myofascial Practitioner: RMMP), including education and practice space to select candidates allowing them to establish and refine Myofascial skills and grow a clientele under the mentorship of Aaron Gustafson, LMT, CAMT II, NCBTMB Approved Continuing Education Provider #450969-09

No Compete? No way! You build a clientele and can take them with you when you are ready to move on from PMP. Is this a job where you have an instant clientele provided for you? No. This is where you work your glutes off and find your own clients, because you have your own space now, and are building some awesome skills, while being mentored in building career long client relationships.
Set your own schedule, while making at least 12 session hours available @ PMP per week, and commit to be here at least one Tuesday, Thursday or Friday morning, every other week from 7a to 8:25a for Mentor Sessions, and to be here for Rooted Movement Classes when offered. Other than that, days and hours are up to you; the office is yours 24/7. It equals a half-time committment, allowing space for other gigs, or you may choose to practice here full time, it’s up to you, and meant to fit your life.
Class weekends are not available for scheduling client sessions (Classes are ususally one weekend a month in Spring and Fall, no classes in Summer, because it’s Oregon- we’ve got to savor that stuff, plus minimal classes in Winter because: Snowboarding.). Non-class weekends are open for client session scheduling.
-Over a two year internship commitment, you will have opportunity to complete the requirements of, and earn Credentialing in Rooted Movement Myofascial Bodywork; RMMP = Rooted Movement Myofascial Practitioner.
RMMP Credentialing Requirements:
-Complete all Rooted Movement Classes– Free for PMP enrollees. Currently four 7CE courses covering whole body, and techniques for trauma; plus 4 CEs in ethics coming in 2027. Attending the available classes will cover your Oregon 2 year CE renewal requirements, except the 1 CE of Cultural Competency; that one is up to you.
-Complete a minimum of 40 Mentor Sessions: at least 40 x 85 minute sessions with Aaron Gustafson – Mentor Sessions are included free within PMP. Mentor Sessions are in addition to the 12 required client hours. You may bring a paying client to Mentor Sessions for supervision and guidance and be paid for these sessions. Mentor Sessions are unpaid unless your client pays.
-Complete 75 Client Sessions of focused Rooted Movement Myofascial work, and submit a Rooted Movement Session Log and Reflection for each.
-Complete a Final Reflection Project following completion of above requirements. The Final Reflection Project is an essay detailing how training in Rooted Movement has influenced you as a bodyworker.
-Mentor sessions can cover anything you want help with:
-Supervised client work: work with a client while supervised with guidance.
-Technique: learn the feelings of techniques via giving and receiving, touch feedback and guidance.
-Explore Theory and Strategy for pathologies, posture and movement restrictions.
-Administrative Guidance: Charting, billing, graphic design, video production, website administration and development, etc..
-Miscellaneous: Draw from all my 26+ years of experience. I am an open book.
-Opportunity to work into a teaching assistant/faculty role.
PMP Administration and Guidelines:
Clinic Payments: Session payments are collected by, and processed via Transcend Bodywork LLC
Linens: Participants are required to take care of providing and laundering their own linens.
Client Records: Client files for sessions at PMP and records will be kept by Transcend Bodywork LLC. Interns may make and take copies of their client records when exiting PMP. Paper client records are used at PMP, learn to chart what a client actually tells you, rather than conforming to software or electronic chart limitations. Choose how to keep your own records when exiting PMP.
PMP Clinic Charges & Intern Pay: Mentees agree to a 70/30 split of session fees collected at PMP: 70% to Therapist, 30% to PMP. Clinic charges are $142.85 per hour session, $214.25 for 90 minutes. These rates reflect a 20% time of service discount off of billed rates. PIP/MVA billing training available as a mentoring option. Intern/Therapist pay @ 70% of Clinic Charge= $100 per 60 minute session, $150.00 for 90 minutes. No tipping allowed; as this is a therapeutic/healthcare focused modality, we do not accept tips.
Intern Pay is made every 2 weeks, for session fees collected in previous 2 weeks.
(Friday & Saturday sessions subject to 3 business day delay due to no weekend deposits from payment processor.)
Probationary Period: Participants will have 120 days to build up to 5 scheduled session hours per week minimum. If the 5 hour minimum is not met within 120 days, Participant enrollment will be reconsidered and subject to termination at the discretion of PMP.
Furnishings: Participants are encouraged to decorate their own Treatment Space. Furnishing assistance is available. PMP can help provide basic equipment on a rent-to-own basis. Basic Furnishings PMP can provide include: Linen Cabinet, Hamper, Client and Therapist seating, Massage Table and Practitioner Stool, if necessary. Furnishings remain the property of PMP until the amount owed has been paid in full. Participants that leave PMP early may choose a refund for amount paid, or pay off the furnishings and take them with them. Minimum monthy payments will be 1/24th of the amount financed.
Application Process: candidates will be selected in 2 steps; Complete the written application. Candidates that advance past the written application process will be scheduled for a bodywork exchange interview- A trade with Aaron Gustafson LMT, CAMT II.
